Giae of Yooshin, or "Gigi", is the result of a pairing between my import, JinHo, and an imported, leased female named DdoDdo.
It had been nearly 7 years since JinHo had his first and only litter, and I was looking to produce more Jindos with his beginner-friendly temperament to pair with some other Jindo lines that required more savy owners.
DdoDdo was offered to me as a gift from a long-time supporter in Korea of the old L.A. clubs, but unfortunately, I did not have space or a co-owner who could take an adult female. A friend ended up importing her as his own dog and was gracious enough to lease her to me for breeding. DdoDdo has a branch in her maternal side that hails back to Goya Chuksan, a famous kennel on the island of Jindo.

Pink Girl (Gigi) at 49 days of age
The combination of JinHo and DdoDdo is a diversity breeding of very different styles, but I am happy that my pick puppy for conformation, Pink Girl, retained the temperament I was looking to preserve. Even as a very young puppy, she was socially attracted to young kids, following them around over other dogs. She is exceptionally gentle and loving with the small person in the family, and she retains the playful ball drive that her father and her ancestor Bawoo displayed.
Pink Girl was given the call name of "Gigi" by her family who are avid L.A. Lakers fans. She was named in honor of Kobe Bryant's daughter Gianna, who tragically died in a helicopter accident with her father.

Current plans are to have a litter out of Gigi in 2025 and to retire her afterwards.
